In conclusion we can see that both stories contain mainly familiarity, amplitude and surprise, this is because most news stories are mentioned in the news because they are these things, when we look closer it is clear that local news stories are more personal to families and they usually provoke emotion to the audience or reader, in local news due to the fact that it is in small communities the stories are more detailed and are structured in a way that many audiences can understand. Many people want to know what is happening in the area where they live. It is
relevant to their lives. local radio stations and stories provide this
information.
National news stories also have disaster and big stories but they also focus on business and the economy, this is where we see the differences between local and national, as local stories are not so focused on big economical issues unless it has effected the community. Newsworthy events around the world are often reported first by the national news teams, these stories tend to be very important to the majority of the world. National news connects the lives of people all over the globe and it allows us to gain knowledge of what is going on, whether this is bad or good.
